LORICATUS

Romanorum Loricatus Formo Ostendo

The Romanorum Loricatus Formo Ostendo!!

The Romanorum Loricatus formo ostendo, or LORICATUS for short, is your chance to SHINE literally and figuratively in your armor!  Contestants will compete for the coveted title of Optimus Miles Militis Infigo (Best Roman Soldier Impression).

Awards (more may be added):
Optimus Miles Militis Infigo (best Roman Soldier Impression)
Most Improved for the year
Best Starter Impression

We are still reviewing rules, but to give you some idea a few are below.

1. Equipment must be owned by the soldier displaying it (NO loaner gear)
2. Impressions are expected to be solidly backed by evidence and the milites must be able to explain the evidence and the decision to utilize the item for their impression (IE: Know your gear!).
3. Items do not have to be hand made by the wearer, but the wearer should be able to explain the basics of construction and repair of the items.  Participants are encouraged to build as much of their own kit as possible.
4. Entry is open to complete and incomplete impressions.  Complete impressions may compete for all awards, incomplete impressions may compete only for "Best Starter Impression" and are intended for the member to recieve constructive criticism intended to encourage them to complete their kit and recieve information to do so.

WARNING:  You will be heavily critiqued by the judges.  The goal of this is to improve your impression, not to insult you, so be prepared to explain your gear, what you have done, why you have done it, and the evidence you have based it on.  The purpose of this event is to help you improve your impression!  All of us will learn from the judging, so our hope is to see an overall improvement in the Kit of all units involved.

Judges:  Judges will be appointed by the Centurio's of the host units (Leg VI and XI) and will come from different units.  Legio affiliation is not a consideration in judging or authenticity standards (your unit standards may be lower than our judges... be prepared!)

Do not wear your feelings on your sleeve, all criticism is intended to HELP you, not insult you!!!!!
