Drill Demo- Will see a Roman Century doing drill in Latin with
authentic formations and explanations of each
Kids Cohort- Usually
for younger kids, we issue them a shield (no sword) and teach them some basic drill, march them a bit, and "pay" them
for their enlistment
Training at the Post-
Will observe Roman soldiers training "at the post" with wooden swords
Confession
of Justus- Dramatic Presentation
Formation
and Ration Issue- Will observe a brief formation and inspection followed by the issue of Rations
Artillery Demo- Will
observe soldiers practiving on a live Roman Era reconstructed Ballista
Gladiatorial
Games- Will listen to the Lanista's lecture on the Games and observe several fights (no one dies)
Slinger
Demo- A young auxiliary soldier will demonstrate the ability of the Romans to use the sling in battle.
Engineering Demo-
Kids may try their hand at running the tripastos crane and see marble engraving, make a bit of period rope, and meet our Chief
engineer as he works
Artillery Demonstration-
Will be able to see our archer and his new mobile shield
Medical
Demo- Will meet our Legion Medic and see the tools and herbs the Romans used
En Castris-
Visit our Roman Army and Barbarian camps to see how they lived
Pay Call-
A formal formation to pay the troops... with appropriate deductions of course.
Pottery Demo- A local
potter will be making and discussing pottery on the wheel
Vendor- With Roman
era goods, prices run $1-$75, many hand made reconstructions are offerred
Book Signing- Author
James Mace will be selling and signing the third book in his "Soldier of Rome" Series

See the armor of the soldiers up close and listen as they explain how it works and functions.
