Live Steel ROE

Live Steel Weapons are Always Sharp.

On friday we will all be wearing live steel.  To keep things flowing, there will be some objectives for the day (see the VEX CAPTURE webpage for more details), but they MUST be achieved through guile, deceptions, bribery, or outright thievery.  At NO TIME will a steel weapon be drawn and targeted on another for "simulated" combat or horseplay.  This does not stop members from showing off a weapon or even using one to emphasize a point.

IE, It is okay to slide your sword or pugio out as a member of the guard and "show" it.  It is NOT okay to point it at the throat of another while gesticulating wildly.  Final say on violations sits with the event staff, but all field commanders of any rank are charged with enforcement.

All steel weapons are to be considered SHARP at all times.

No Steel on steel weapons contact.

No steel spears or pila will be used to throw.  Such weapons are only for DISPLAY.

If a Needlefelt armed soldier confronts a steel armed soldier (outside of group combat and designated NF times) then the NF Soldier must default to live steel rules.  (IE You cannot "kill" him with NF because he is armed w/ real steel... you have to talk your way out of it).

In the event a real steel soldier or civilian is caught in the area of needlefelt combat they should cover their eyes and "die" if engaged.
