Greetings to everyone on the list. Unfortunately due to a new lease agreement, as well as an existing dispute between the members of the board of CastraLafe43AD and the site owner we have had to cancel this years 2012 event. I know this comes as a blow to everyone who was looking forward to the 2012 scenario. It takes a team to put on a sucessful event and at this point we do not have a good team. So instead of delivering an inferior experience at Lafe, we have decided to call it off.

We understand that some of you have already spent your own time and money getting ready for Lafe and for that I apologize. I do encourage you to support the other Roman sites around the U.S. and Canada. It takes alot of money, hard work, and sacrifice to put on an event like th...is every year so give them your support.

For those of you who have already preregistered for 2012, we will promptly be refunding your money.

AD 43 Event and LEG II AVG Homepage

You're looking at this website and wondering just WHAT is Legio II Augusta and the Lafe AD43 event that we talk about... Well, first, Legio II Augusta is a member unit of the The Imperial Southern Provisional Army -- The ISPA is a loose organization of Roman Reenactors, Legions, Gladiators, Citizens, Auxila, and Enemies of Rome in the Southeastern United States. Its stated purpose is to facilitate cooperation and growth between its member units. ISPA units Sponsor several events annually including Castra Romana in South Carolina, Memorial Day Timeline in Georgia, and Lafe Encampment in Arkansas.

Lafe AD43

The Lafe event is a Roman "tactical" and 24 hour Living History "immersion" event that Leg. II puts on each year. It is fast becoming the Roman event in North America and each year draws more reenactors from each side. We are building a Roman fort on the site, Celtic farmstead, and Vicus.  See our photo page for more images!
